Green Garden Spaces Garden Center Stokeley Farm Shop

Green Garden Spaces

Opened in March 2023, Green Garden Spaces is an independent business on the site of Stokeley Farm Shop, Stokenham, South Devon.

Run by husband and wife team, Emma and Jonathan Hutchinson, the garden centre offers an extensive range of plants that are reliable, celebrate the seasons and are often unusual or interesting finds. Using local suppliers where ever possible means that the plants are great quality and reasonably priced. The garden centre shop, housed in a converted shipping container, has a plethora of garden seeds, tools and gifts aswell as a great range of wildlife essentials such as bird boxes, feeders and food.

Particularly important in our South Devon coastal climate is the ability for plants to thrive. Information on planting suitability and combinations for pots, beds and borders is freely available. You can pop in to the garden centre for experienced, knowledgeable advice on plants for your garden whether in Devon or further afield.

Open 7 days a week 9am – 5pm

On Monday please pay in the farm shop if we are not on site.

On all other occasions please pay for Green Garden Spaces items in our container.

You will often find us doing jobs around the garden centre so please ask for us if you can’t see us!

About Emma from at Green Garden Spaces
A lifelong interest in plants and wildlife combined with running a seperate gardening and cleaning business has enabled us to create a varied portfolio of ideas to help you make the most of your garden. The gardens we work with and advise on focus on the microclimate of the local area and importantly the dreams of the people who will be enjoying them. Previous work has included clients with gardens both large and small, providing maintenance or redesign advice, volunteering in a primary school garden, talking to fellow gardeners about plants and following passions for wildlife and sustainable floristry.

Seasonality

As the seasons change through the year, we bring new plants and products for you to enjoy. Gardening is a lovely way to acknowledge seasonality. Starting with the very first snowdrop spotted, following the plants and flowers through the months, enjoying their full life cycle, until frost creates a sparkly coating across the garden.

Christmas is much loved in our house. There is always a real tree inside, a handmade wreath on the door, decorations on the mantel piece and thoughtful gifts for loved ones. Green Garden Spaces are excited to be continuing the Stokeley tradition of selling Christmas trees and adding some extra sparkle in the form of wreaths, decorations and gifts each year.

Inspirational and seasonal workshops/talks held throughout the year. See below for more details.

7th February 2024 - Gardening for Wildlife Talk

15th February 2024- Paper Seed Pot and Seed Sowing Workshop

4th and 11th December 2024 - Wreath Making and Table Decoration Workshops
